Adieu

The dust driven sheets, wind whipped caravel
Of the dreams you’ve taken and fled pellmell
Bed in the sand, pillow left in the dunes
Askew and behind like planets and moons

Where have you gone, glass overturned empty
Trailing time after sorrow and plenty
Yearnings for nothing argue insanely
With the blood you’ve spilt here so aimlessly

Come back and restore my time, key and clock
My door won’t shutter, my hours are unlocked
Opened, bereft, stumbling wind blown for you
Goodbye, sleep robber, farewell and adieu
